A Lot of Stories Packed Into One Itty Bitty Phone
Over the past seven months, I’ve been working on the Google Nexus One account as an art director and designer at Teak Digital. Here’s a small sampling of that work from early this year. Stay tuned as I add more detailed information and media.
You Tube App Demos
Role: Design, production and copywriting

These screen shots show app demos that were designed to be delivered via page takeovers and banner ads as well as the You Tube Google Nexus One channel (shown left). This was very much a team effort and we all filled in the gaps as needed during production (even a few of my profile pics show up, occasionally). Screen captures weren’t an option, so we rebuilt the apps in Photoshop and handed off production files to the animators directing the movements. I even wrote a couple scripts. View the projects at the You Tube Google Nexus One channel.
Rich Media Banners
Role: Art direction, design and AS2 production

Working with our ACD at Teak, I storyboarded, designed and art directed three versions of these rich banners to highlight the size, weight and HD screen of the Nexus One. Then I teamed up with an After Effects animator and AS3 developer to deploy the Flash AS2 timeline-based prototypes I built. Check them out in the interactive gallery.
Takeover Concept
Role: Concept, art direction and design

This page takeover began with a wide skyscraper banner ad. When clicked, the phone jumped off the page and became the user’s mouse pointer. As the mouse/phone moved around the page, you could see the web page behind the phone on the screen and when the user clicked again… flash! The entire screen lit up and faded back to reveal a large nexus one in a full page takeover. A video demo then played utilizing the photo just taken by the user.
